Upon arrival at Jammu airport / railway station you shall be picked up and proceed to Basohli. Basohli is a small town and is a Tehsil Headquarter. It is situated on the right bank of River Ravi at an altitude of 1876 ft. It is founded by Raja Bhupat Pal sometimes in 1635. It is famous for miniatures paintings often called as Basohli Paintings. Basohli Paintings is fusion of Hindu mythology and folk art of the Local Hills. The themes includes Portraits of Local Rulers, Local Traditions and environment, Devi Series (it deals with the Bhadrakali a supreme deity), Hindu Religious Texts like the Ramayana, Bhagvata Purana (it deals with the life of Lord Krishna). In the evening enjoy boating and after pay your obedience to Maha Dera Temple. Maha Dera Temple, also known as Trilochan Nath Temple, is a Hindu temple in Basohli, Jammu and Kashmir. It's a limestone temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Stay overnight in Basohli.
Proceed to offer your prayers at Chanchloi Mata Ji Temple. Then after head towards Atal Setu. Atal Setu over river Ravi, now Ranjeet Sagar Dam (Theim Dam), resembles with the one Golden Gates bridge of California, USA with the difference the former is built over 600 m wide stretch of RSD lake at Basohl, while the later over one mile wide and three miles long channel between San Francisco Bay and the pacific ocean, USA. Like the Golden Gates, Atal Setu is also counted among the wonders in terms of design and technology globally. Later proceed towards Sarthal - a small valley with waterfalls, forests, streams, and meadows, and is a popular destination for tourists and trekkers. Stay overnight in Bani.
It is a beautiful meadow situated at a height of 7000 ft which remains covered with snow for six months. The virgin and beauty of the area casts a fascinating spell to any visitor. The area is bounded by snow clad mountains. It is connected to Bhaderwah and to Himachal Pardash. Proceed to visit Chatergalla. It is the highest point on the Basohli-Bani Bhaderwah Road. Proceed to pay your obedience to Sukrala Devi Shrine followed by ancient Shiva Temple that was formerly khnown as Hari Hara Temple. Sukrala Devi Shrine - A famous shrine dedicated to the goddess Mal Devi, who is believed to be a reincarnation of Sharda Devi. Later head towards Machhedi. Situated at a height of 5000 ft. is a beautiful Hill Station. It is a ridge blanked with thick Chir, Deodhar and Shrubs which experiences temperate type of climate. Cold winter and pleasant summer are the main attractions of this place The water of this place can be compared with that of Cheshma Sahi in Kashmir. Stay overnight in Billawar.
After breakfast check-out and drop at Jammu Tawi Railway Station / airport for onward journey. If time permits, en-route visit Chichi Mata Ji Temple situated at Samba. According to the legend, the place, where the present day temple exists, the goddess sati’s smallest finger fell after she sacrificed herself in Yagya.
