Upon arrival in Jammu, you shall be picked up and taken by road to Panchari. The picturesque hill station of Pancheri situated at an altitude of 5900 feet is the nearest tourist spot from Udhampur city which experiences copious snowfall in the winters. Nestled in the middle reaches of Ladha Dhar, the hill destination is home to thickets of Banj Oak and a Deodar Forest locally called as Dayari. For the religiously inclined, the holy shrine of Sankari Devta, Shiv Parvati caves of Moungri and numerous Bowlis known for rich stone carvings and held sacred by locals offer spiritual rejuvenation.
Enroute visit Krimchi Temples. The complex comes after a small hiking of around 500 mtrs. This Complex consists of five temples and two shrines. This temple complex is one of the oldest in India and is mixture of Greek and Orrisa (another state of India) Temple’s architecture.
The rich folk music / dance / other art and culture traditions of Panchari are wonders to enjoy. The agro and farm tourism to make young generation aware of various agricultural/ farm activities like visit to farms, milking of cows, preparation of butter, watching of water mills, Atta Chakkis, spinning of handloom on old handlooms, sheep rearing etc are being arranged for the experience of the tourist. To get opportunity to purchase local authentic art and craft pieces as a memory pieces, a local Bazar namely “Saada Bazar – Saadi Birasat” has been established. A small trek will take you to pay your obedience at Sankri Devta Temple. Sankar Devta temple has idols of deities which are known to be of Shiva and Shakti. The temple is said to be about more than 500 years old. Famous Sankri Mela (local fair) also organised at the month of August or September in which huge crowd of people come together and take blessing of Baba Sankri. Stay overnight in Panchari.
Don’t miss to eat Kalari (a local eatery) when you stay at Panchari. En-route visit As this is the last day here, check-out from the hotel and proceed for Udhampur for an overnight stay. Visit ISKON Temple and Jakhani Park. Later stroll in the bazars of Udhampur. Stay overnight at pre-booked accommodation.
Check-out from the hotel and proceed to day excursion for Mansar Lake. Mansar Lake is a great tourist spot for all its scenic beauty, flora & fauna. The lake has proper walk-way all around with projected view decks to enjoy flickering of seasonal birds, tortoise and fishes of different species. There is a wild life Sanctuary housing jungle life like Spotted Deer, Neelgai etc. besides other water birds such as Cranes, Ducks etc. Later proceed to Jammu. Check-in and stay overnight in Jammu.
After having breakfast, check-out from the hotel and you will be transferred to Udhampur / Jammu railway station or Jammu Airport for your onward journey.
The Panchari in winters receives mild snowfall due to which the village become no less than a white wonders to visit. during winters the tourist village is a place to play and enjoy number of games and activities. the view of the village covered with mild snow is quite mesmerizing and a source of pleasure for all of the tourist visiting there.
